Witness Locates/Skip Tracing

Gillespie Investigations can help you “locate” that hard to find person.

We are highly trained investigators – not a database search company. Gillespie Investigations hits the street and networks with investigators and law enforcement agencies throughout the world to solve your case and get the answers you need.

“Skip tracing” is a term used to describe the process of locating a person or person(s) that can’t be found at their place of residence, employment or usual hangouts. The word “Skip” refers to the person being searched for (derived from the term “to skip town”) and “tracing” meaning the act  and process of locating the skip. Let us help you find your person.

Child Custody/Child Support Cases

Nothing could be more devastating than the thought of losing your child or children in a custody battle. Gillespie Investigations can help provide information that will assist in resolving child custody and child support issues.

As you know, each year in the U.S. thousands of marriages end in divorce. Unfortunately, children are often caught in the middle. Custody becomes a major concern for the parents and normally ends up in a bitter legal battle. But can you trust the legal system to do what’s best for your child or children? Unfortunately, our legal system has a tendency to treat a child like a piece of property, which can be difficult for the child. That’s why you need an experienced private investigator.

In any breakup with children involved, the children become the focal point. The main objective in reaching an agreement is what is best suited for the child. This is an extremely uncertain and stressful time. It can be compounded even more when you feel there’s a chance your children could be placed in an environment which is less than desirable and unknown. This is why you need Gillespie Investigations. Our investigations can possibly reveal evidence of:

  • Child abuse
  • Child neglect
  • Cohabitation with children present
  • Drug and alcohol abuse
  • Parents spending little or no time with the children during visitation
  • Direct involvement of your child by other persons with notorious backgrounds or lifestyles who may have been introduced by the other parent.

You may have knowledge of situations that endanger your child, but your testimony versus the other parent is typically not enough to ensure the placement of your child in your custody. You will need objective courtroom testimony and independent video/photographic documentation/evidence to help you effectively protect your child. Many times parents and their attorneys file complaints for full custody based solely on the information and testimony of that parent. Attorneys are not licensed to conduct investigations and only present the evidence that you give them. In order for you to have an edge you must provide objective courtroom testimony from an experienced licensed investigator. Gillespie Investigations can obtain the evidence you need.

Unfortunately, in many instances parents fight for the custody of their children not because they believe that the other parent is unfit, but because they want to hurt the other parent by taking the child away. In many cases the parent seeking full custody does not have the time or the desire to have full custody. Gillespie Investigations has been able to prove through surveillance that the parent seeking custody actually was spending very little time with the child or children.

Children are precious – they are your pride and joy! You don’t want a judge deciding where your children will live based on which parent he believes the most. A decision must be based on the facts. When your children are at stake, you need an experienced licensed Private Investigator who specializes in Child Custody and Domestic Cases. Don’t gamble with their future!

Child Support

Simply put, deadbeat parents are low-lifes. Their actions are inexcusable! Gillespie Investigations considers this a major issue that must be corrected immediately. Unfortunately, the courts and state agencies don’t do enough. They are overloaded with cases and do not have the resources to investigate these matters. Your pleas too often fall on deaf ears and often times hope is lost. It does not have to be that way. Gillespie Investigations can help you take matters into your own hands. We can help locate these deadbeats, find out where they are employed and determine what assets they have.

We are not a collection agency. We want to help you get all of what you deserve. This means providing information you can use in court or provide to your state’s attorney general.

Give Gillespie a call today to discuss your case.

Who We Are:

Gillespie Investigations has a team of licensed professional investigators who specialize in locating the missing.  We are committed to providing skilled, organized, and ethical volunteer search efforts for missing persons.  Gillespie Investigations’ Search and Recover Team utilizes ATV’s, Water Craft, off-road support vehicles, computer forensics, and advanced technologies as needed to corroborate search efforts in locating and recovering your missing loved one.

 What We Do:

We provide assistance to law enforcement and families in finding the missing while educating the community on the issues related to the missing and exploited and to aid and prevent victimization.

Why We Do It:

There are many reasons why we offer our services to assist in finding the missing and the biggest one is peace of mind for the family. When a loved one is missing there is always fear that they are possibly endangered, and sometimes deceased. According to The United States Department of Justice over 2,100 people go missing every day equaling approximately 800,000 reported missing every year.  According to the The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, within 48 hours of hitting the streets, one-third of these children are lured or recruited into the underground world of prostitution and pornography.  We consider the missing endangered and do not label any missing as a runaway. Keep in mind that those who may have walked away on their own accord may be in as much danger as those abducted. Gillespie Investigations has a team dedicated to help locate and recover your missing loved one.

Missing Veterans

Gillespie Investigations knows the importance of finding missing veterans and is experienced in the challenges that arise when searching for a battle in distress. We understand the urgency of finding missing veterans and their need for special attention due to PTSD and related depression and mental health concerns.  We coordinate our efforts with local law enforcement as well as Warrior Pointe and VetSAR, a veteran Search and Recover organization, using not only skilled investigators but veteran volunteers with a boots-on-the-ground approach and utilizing the Missing Warrior Alert System. We offer helpful resources that consist of Suicide Prevention, Crisis Intervention, Family Bereavement and more as needs arise. Gillespie Investigations understands that time is a limited resource when finding missing veterans and we respond in an urgent manner by providing a skilled, organized search effort to locate and recover your missing loved one.

Innocent until proven guilty or guilty until proven innocent?

Presumption of innocence is a legal right.  No person shall be considered guilty until finally convicted by a court. In a criminal trial, the burden of proof is on the government. Defendants do not have to prove their innocence. Instead, the government must provide evidence to convince the jury of the defendant’s guilt. The standard of proof in a criminal trial is proof “beyond a reasonable doubt,” which means the evidence must be so strong that there is no reasonable doubt that the defendant committed the crime. Too often, defendants are convicted for crimes they did not commit based on this standard of proof. This is a travesty of justice. Unfortunately, every person that enters our judicial system is a potential victim of that system. Don’t become a victim!

Mark Gillespie, owner of Gillespie Investigations and a former federal special agent, is experienced in conducting capital murder and other serious felony investigations (sex crimes, aggravated assaults, narcotics, etc.) Mark and his team bring years of experience including crime scene investigation, evidence collection, interviewing witnesses, interrogating suspects and knowledge of police procedure.

Death Investigations

“No greater honor will ever be bestowed on an officer, or a more profound duty imposed on him, than when he is entrusted with the investigation of the death of a human being. It is his duty to find the facts, regardless of color or creed, without prejudice, and to let no power on earth deter him from presenting these facts to the court without regard to personality.”          Anonymous

“Equivocal” means unanswered or lingering questions. An equivocal death investigation is one in which the manner of death is unknown. Manner of death is a legal classification that is based on the circumstances surrounding the death and is different than the cause of death, which is the medical reason why the person died. There are five possible classifications for manner of death:

Gillespie Investigations can evaluate unsolved death cases to determine if new analysis or forensic techniques could help bring closure to the case.
